About Me

I became interested in economics and global politics during Sixth Form and found the Cold War especially fascinating. This led me to learn about Cuba; its ongoing struggle and its incredible revolutionary tale.

At the age of 19, in 2003, I decided I must see this unique place for myself, and in December of that year, I was fortunate enough to visit. It had a very profound effect on me, getting to experience this way of life that prioritised humanity and society, rather than big business, despite the relentless pressure exerted upon it by its superpower neighbour.

That trip has stayed with me and in the intervening decades, I’ve very often read and thought about Cuba and its people, its heroic struggle in the face of overwhelming adversity.

That struggle has continued, in recent years, I saw more upsetting headlines and aggressive events directly targeted at Cubans and Latin America.

Last year, in 2025, I came across the Cuban Solidarity Campaign and their remarkable Cuba Vive Medical Aid Appeal, and decided to use my skills from my career in design to set up this site in an effort to contribute and repay some of the eye opening experience, knowledge and education that I am so fortunate to have gained from Cuba.
